Ok, well I have re-done my website,
However at the moment, it works best in IE...

I changed from Tables to DIVS, so my coding is a little off...

Also, if you view this on Safari or Firefox, I have reports of it not showing the Logo in the header of each page, if someone can help me with that one...

Also please C&C it for me!

Nice design, but the original page did not redirect me like it should have. I waited about 30 seconds to give it a chance.

Why have the redirect at all? It is just showing your logo and name, which doesn't really appear on the site from there on in. I would get rid of the "splash" page and add your logo to the rest of the site.

This was my biggest pet peeve.

the site is nice looking but i agree with others in that there is no need for any kind of a "splash page". i can even see some folks thinking it's down for maintenance or something and leaving. don't give people credit that they'll actually any words in front of them. build everything with the assumption that people are dumb.

Well the logo does show up on all the pages, if you are using IE. Safari and Firefox don't show it for some reason, and I'm not sure why... The Splash page was there just for testing reasons, the site isnt fully functional, and I'm trying to get it working on all platforms...

Was that some kind of trick to see if we noticed that you didn't type the word "read"? ;) :D

Touché.

Wait, I don't think I'm using that right. Oh well.

I actually thought it should be 'see' in there :p

Very nice design, but as the others said, splash pages suck. At least yours isn't made in flash though.

Nice design, great job getting things to work like you wanted. However, the coding could use a lot of work. Good luck!

what parts of the site need work on the coding?

Are you looking at it in Safari? - If so it will render weird in Safari...

It's not really the look, although it's somewhat related. It's just that the site can be made more accessible and easier to update while using much less code and deprecated tags. Let me know if you need help! :D

I see what you mean, the design was put together over a few days... I've looked into adding a CMS to it, but I cannot find one that is super easy to add to my exisiting site...

From my last site, which used nothing but tables, I would say this one is pretty good, no tables and all validates XHTML

I know what you mean - especially coming from table layouts, I think you did a good job. You even used the correct DOCTYPE (Transitional, since there are still presentational markup elements in there). Would you like me to post an example of an updated version of the code used for your site?

hey, if you can email me jgruber15 [AT] gmail.com we can talk about it that way... I would be interested to see the updated code, or how i can improve it.

Sure thing, I'll work on something and send it right to ya. I do have to commend you on some good code already from someone coming from tables :)

Looks good, I would consider killing the redirect of course, showing your logo on the main page and using a css sprite image for your buttons since just as a nitpicking point the second image of course doesn't initially load. Not bad.

I'm going to kill the re-direct after I'm done with the coding to get it to show up correctly on Safari and Firefox, for some reason Safari and Firefox don't show the header image when loaded. It shows up just fine in IE though.
