new window box is stuck at the top, PLS HELP!!

hello guys.

i've been searching around this forum and google and i can't find the solution.
So i hope you guys would help me out on this one, because is very annoying.

when you right click a file and you click "save as", a new window will pop op.
it ask you which directory you want to save your file. This window cannot be move at all. it just stucked at the top of my desktop.
do you guys know how to change this setting, i want to move that new window when i "save as".

If so, that dialog window is attached to the window of the application with the document you want to save, it is NOT movable.

that's the one i want to move.

it's because sometimes i'm saving a pdf file.
i forgot the title of the pdf article, and that dialog window is blocking my view.

do you guys know if there's a setting to move the dialog window?

simsaladimbamba said that its not moveable. Perhaps getting into the habit of remembering the name of the document, or to copy the name and paste it into the dialog box will help solve the problem you are having. Or just hitting Cancel and then looking at the name before trying to save again.

Is this happening in all applications or just in a specific one? In which applications is it happening? Has it always been like this?

Did you try anything to fix this already, like restarting, repairing permissions, deleting preferences, or else?

If the OP is experiencing what was brought up in post #2, and it seems that way as of post #4, those steps will not help, especially repairing permissions, which has nothing to do with that.
Only reprogramming Mac OS X, or as it is called now, OS X, will do that.

Btw, will new Macs not be called Macs anymore? Only i, mini, Book Air, Book Pro and Pro?

This is true for Safari but not the case with Firefox. See enclosed screen shot. In Firefox all file dialog windows can be moved. I actually believe that in almost all applications (maybe with the exeption of Apple applications) this window can be moved.

Vinchino, if you were writing about Safari the easiest thing might be to use Firefox instead. Otherwise please see my questions from before.

Forgot about Firefox, you are right. But it is not bound to Apple only applications, Opera behaves the same as Safari.
Yes, maybe the OP shall change the application, or shall change his/her workflow.

There are two ways by which apps let you choose the location to load/save file.

The one shown in the screenshot is the newer 'sheet modal' style of open/save dialog. As seen, it does not create a new window, and instead attaches itself to a parent window.

The other is the older way which pops up a new window, which can be moved like any other window.

It is totally up to the App developer to choose one of these, and they are more likely to
