I just got my wireless keyboard from Apple - the metal one! I was so surprised. I didn't realize it was shipping! I love it! So small and classy looking!

YAY!

sorry I had trouble with the attachments, here you go!

It's pretty spiffy, but IMHO a BT keyboard should have a trackpad on it. Using a mouse kind of sucks when you're sitting across the room in a recliner. (If I was sitting at a desk, a USB cable would be fine. I buy BT for the media room.)

I picked up a diNovo Edge from Logitech and I love it. The keyboard has the crappy Windows layout, and the trackpad compares very poorly with the one on my MacBook, but it beats the heck out of trying to use a Mighty Mouse on the arm of my chair.

I just think it sucks they omitted the keypad. I'd love to have a full wireless keyboard in the new metal style :( Comon apple!

I have to agree. While a cool little keyboard on its own, I personally think it looks a little stupid and out of place sizewise next to an imac. If it was for sitting on the couch and playing on the internet on the tv, then a different story. To each their own.

Nice pictures, thanks! I like mine too. I got two; one for the living room TV/Mac mini and another for my desk and Power Mac.

Since I don't do much bookkeeping, I don't need a number pad. Having the mouse closer to the alpha keys on the desk makes typing and mousing more comfortable.

I would love to have one of these with a trackpad, as Tara Davis suggests, just like the MacBook.

You gotta wonder why they made it so small. I mean, Steve said that people like to use wireless keyboards on their laps. But really...do they?

Or is this device paving the way for a more functional Apple TV with keyboard support?

Hmmmmm....

Placed order today w/ 1-2 wks lead. Shipped today!

I placed my order today and was told 1-2 weeks shipping. Tonight, I got my shipping notice. It shipped today.

Looks like their stock has finally come in.

What's that black tubing you have on your cable?

Just a cable cover I picked up at Staples. I've actually grown to hate it so I've removed it and now have a very wire free desktop.

In regards to the keyboard, I really love typing on it! It feels SO much better then Apple's previous wireless one. I don't mind that there is no number pad as I don't use it for my job BUT I think Apple should come out with one so EVERYONE can enjoy!

I was worried when I ordered it that it would not blend well with my 24inch White iMac but because that silver is so light and the keys are white I think the match is just fine.

I'd love to get the new iMac but am going to wait until non-glossy is an option since the wall directly behind my chair is nothing but a large window. I'd go nuts with the glare. Plus I still really like the look of the white iMac.

I find that interesting.. When I order my iMac (when Leopard is announced), I will be ordering it with the wireless keyboard because it doesn't have a numeric keypad.. :D

For my situation, I'm glad they left it off. I want something small. There are other BT keyboards out there with keypad - all of them huge. For the next month or so, I have to use my MBP through ext. monitor and a keyboard on my lap while on my couch/recliner (recovering from some surgery). The full size is cumbersome (been using an older Apple wired - the black key one).

As far as I've been able to find, the Apple BT is the smallest available (aside from some of the fold-up types for PDA's). Good timing for me. FedEx should be here in the next couple hours. :D

edit: It arrived this afternoon! First impression was how incredibly small and light it is. Perfect. Key feel is very nice. I'm going to make my setup here at home permanent, and use the wireless keyboard and mouse with my MBP. Best of "both worlds". Tomorrow I'm probably going to order a refurb 20" Cinema Display (higher res than this 19" Envision wide-screen, and integrated controls with the MBP).
