I’m going to be getting a new laptop for work, and I am pumped to be able to pick out an M1 Mac. I’ve been on a 13" MacBook Pros for about 8 years now, but I’m thinking of going MacBook Air so I can ditch the Touch Bar. Any significant downsides? I don’t really do much CPU/GPU-intensive work at this point.

The number, location, and type of ports on the MBA are a concern for some. And I definitely want to see what is up with the removal of Rosetta in some regions and why that is happening to make sure that any software I use that hasn't been rewritten for Apple Silicon is able to be translated.

What do you use for work? If you intend to keep your laptop for so long, you may want to wait until Apple releases a redesigned version of the MacBook Air/Pro, which should happen in 2021 or 2022.
