iPhone X New XS have more fingerprint prone screen?

So this is purely anecdotal , and doubly qualified by only having my XS for a day but...

It seems to me that the new phone screen picks up and shows fingerprints more than my 7plus does. I know that Apple talks about the glass being stronger this time around, but is it possible that they took a step backwards on resistance to smudges
