Hi everyone.

I’ve got my new iPhone XS Max yesterday and I’m very happy with it.

But one thing annoys me a lot. Some apps like settings or Geekbench are freezing and I cannot use my iPhone anymore. I have to do a soft reset to solve the problem. But it doesn’t help forever.

I have set it up as a new iPhone (no backup) and updated it to iOS 12.1.

Do you think it could be a soft- or hardware problem?

I would be taking it back. If you have reset it to factory settings and it is still freezing there is a hardware issue - IMO. I have a gazillion apps on my Xs Max running iOS 12.1. I will have many open and I can flip through them fast and with no hesitation. Running Geekbench 4 works great. Results show 4824 single core/ 11511 multi-core. My friends are impressed with how fast it is. I have never had to do a soft or hard reset.

My biggest gripe is it occasionally drops a call in low signal areas which my X never did.

It was a hardware issue. Touchscreen wasn’t usable anymore. Sent it back and got a new one. Works perfect now.
