new youtube icon is ugly?

does anyone else think the new youtube icon on the iphone is gross?
 
I kinda like it. If the point is to keep it an icon and not a logo, I think this does the job pretty well. Plus I like the juxtaposition between the very 1950s looking TV and the idea that YouTube is the way a lot of people share vids. As far as I know, no other phones have one-touch access to YouTube, eh?
 
but if your going for the whole revolutionary and new technology label for the phone, why have an old tv as an icon on there.. i like all the aqua type icons that are on the home screen, that thing just looks out of place...

You know why the myth of first generation Apple products having "problems" exist? Because the Apple fanbase is such an scrutinizing bunch that they would find fault with even the minuscule of details, such as the design of an icon.

I think it is fine by the way.

im not saying its a huge deal, or a deal breaker... relax... im just saying, why did they choose that over the youtube icon? i think the youtube icon would have been much nicer than an old tv that looks like its from back to the future...
 
its fine how it is. and for the reason of not using the youtube icon....
well what if they open up the 'app' a bit more and allow other services and such. this way its not constricting and limiting to youtube.

Short of that, just give up.
 
It's perfect, love it.

And I am one of the ones who said there was no way the 12th icon would be YouTube.

Kinda looking forward to it actually. After all, if Apple is including it in a world where there isn't much included (so far) they must think it's necessary.
