newbie help question.. (restoring files from the trash)

If you've just thrown something away, you can (while still in Finder) hit ⌘-Z (undo) to return it. However, after that, I think you're left with manually moving files as mentioned above.
And.. next time you have a question, you'll get faster and more response if you use a descriptive title.

Used to be the keyboard shortcut for "Put Away" in pre-OS X systems. I used to use cmd-Y quite a bit for ejecting disks, since it was faster and easier than dragging the icon to the trash, and cmd-E (eject disk) left the greyed out image of the disk onscreen and sometimes a window would pop up saying somthing like "Please re-insert the disk 'name of disk'" and when you inserted it, it would eject it again and bring up the same dialog box until you did a forced restart, apple-ctrl-reset, oh yeah, gotta love that classic OS.mad jew said:

Hmm... What did I miss?
Two facts of possible interest:
1. There is a thread about putting special characters in your posts.
2. When threads have nondescriptive titles, your friendly neighborhood moderator will sometimes add them, in parens, to help people find the thread. That was done here. But of course we'd much rather see them be descriptive in the first place.

But, if you go to edit your post, it (the HTML Character you're trying to make) will turn back to a ?.
That's the tricky part! You have to re-type the HTML character (change the symbol) each time you edit/preview or it will come out as a question markPlymouthbreezer said:
