Hi Guys,

I don't actually know whether I'm doing this right but I thought I would just say a little hello.. I'm new to the forum and I'm kinda unfamiliar with how these things work. I have joined this place as tomorrow I'm going to be a proud owner of a 32gb iPad in space grey. I currently only use an iPhone 5s and have kinda purchased this iPad in hope that it will replace my laptop that unfortunately recently died.

I'm looking to learn as much as I can so I can get the best out of my iPad.

I run a few groups on Facebook so predominantly my iPad will be used for the normal kinda thing. But I want to learn how to design on it.. I've ordered a few books from amazon already to try and get me started.

I was wondering if anyone could recommend any essential design apps that would be good to start off with?

Thanks in advance guys I look forward to chatting with some of you

Hi,design apps? Depends on what you want to design. A good hint,as you already use an iPhone,is to look up App Store, and search for different alternatives there.

Thank you for your reply Stefan,
I want to be able to learn everything about designing on an iPad, from the beginning I suppose.. From what apps are best to use etc. I have done a bit of googling which has brought up some interesting reading. I will take your advice and look through the App Store. I didn't think of that.

Good luck, but remember,it's all about what you want to design. For serious industrial design, there is always expensive apps like auto cad or similar, for website design, the best is probably some free simple thing to start with. If it's gardening you're after, try garden planner. So,it all depends on what you're looking for.

Graphic - excellent vector design app. Got your usual art/drawing apps like Pixelmator, Procreate, Paper.

I would look into Procreate Pocket. It's one of the most dynamic design applications available for iOS and highly rated.
