I am using the Backup program to make periodic backups to DVD+R's. It seems to work pretty well. In the Backup program I specify that I want my iTunes library to be burned onto the DVD.

Since (I think) you are limted to seven DVD/CD burnings for purchased iTunes, does backing them up to DVD count as one of those seven times?

I really appreciate any advice and sorry if this has been covered before.

Thanks !!

No, that's only for burnings done through iTunes. And even then, it's per playlist, not per song.

Burning done through iTunes? I don't think I've ever burned my songs that way. I just drag the iTunes Music folder into my Burn folder and burn it. I've never even burnt a Music CD in iTunes.

Thanks for your responses.

Since I just got my first iPod and haven't set it up yet, I have made some CDs with songs I downloaded in iTunes. It is easy, just put in a CD-R and click on the burn disc button.

i found this out by accident, while the iTunes window was open, i placed a blank CD-R inside the slot, by default, once iTunes detects the presence of the blank CD, it will prompt you and ask which playlist you want burned. The "browse" icon will also automatically change to "Burn" CD
