I find myself needing a lot of help since jailbreaking.

One question I have is that after I jailbreaked, iTunes reopened and asked if I wanted to set up a new iPhone or restore to an old backup.

Should I set up a new iPhone? Or if I do that, will it brick my phone? I'm curious because I need to use iTunes to transfer my videos/apps and such.

Additionally, if I ever do want to revert back to a non-jb'd iPhone, how would I go about that? Just plug it in and restore it like normally via iTunes?

I'm sure these questions are pretty stupid, and I've looked around the forums for some quick answers but haven't found anything.

1)Restore from a backup

to non-jb you put in DFU mode(hold home-10 secs and then power, w/o letting go of home, for 10 seconds then let go of power, continue to hold home button until the Apple logo shows up, then it should go black) and then restore it via iTunes and set up as a new phone

Can I backup my jailbroken iPhone?

Is it okay to backup my jailbroken iPhone, in the normal way iTunes creates backups for it?

Upgrading to 2.2?

When it comes time to upgrade to 2.2, do I have to upgrade simply using the new version of PwnageTool or can I use QuickPwn?

Or, do I have to restore my iPhone completely, and then re-jb and all that stuff?

Right after you jailbreak,(or depending on your situation, now.) connect to iTunes. It'll say to Set up a new phone or to Restore from backup of: ____ iPhone. Select the Backup. or actually..I don't think it realy matters, its just that if you do from backup, all of your contacts and txt mssgs are saved.

Is this true? Does it have to be a DFU restore to unjailbreak?

I was under the impression a simple restore through iTunes would be sufficient.

Yeah, I chose to set up a new phone which required a new sync and what-not.

I'm concerned about backing up my jailbroken version. Is it possible to back it up using iTunes or if you do does it corrupt your original backups?

Also as far as QuickPwn goes, do I just download the new version when 2.2 comes out and that contains 2.2 within it? Or do I have to upgrade using iTunes and then jb my phone all over again.

I'm really confused about this issue, I tried looking throughout these forums and others and all I've seen are people say you need to do a full clean restore to 2.2 and then re-jb. Is this true?

Help?

Can anyone please say anything about backing up an jb'd iPhone? Can it be done like a normal backup through iTunes? Or does it need to be done differently?

It can be done like a normal backup..

and yes to UNJailbreak you should do a DFU restore. that wipes everything off the phone except the operating system.
