Hi everyone,

I apologize in advance I'm sure you're read hundreds of similar posts to this one about unlocking the iphone but I've searched throughout the forum and web and to be frank I'm a bit overwhelmed and don't know what to do.

Can anyone point me in the right direction of how to unlock my iphone, i bought it on the first day when it came out in the UK so i thought it was firmware 1.0.2 but found it Uk iphones are 1.1.2? Have been putting off unlocking it since then as i am very unsure. I am not a computing novice at all, i would actually say intermediate or advanced but am a novice when it comes to phone unlocking.

I have seen many posts and sites saying there is no current unlock for 1.1.2 or only partial unlocks, is this true? does this mean i am screwed? can i downgrade it to 1.0.2?

I need to unlock my iphone for my sisters birthday which is in 2 days time (yikes!) so it can accept her T-Mobile sim.

All i need is someone to tell me what software i need and hopefully point me in the direction of a step-by-step guide.

I really hope you can help,
Thanks a million!

If it came with 1.1.2 out of box and has the new v4.6 bootloader (I believe all UK iPhones are), it can not be unlocked yet (it can be jailbroken to install 3rd party apps).
However, you can use TurboSIM/SuperSIM etc to use on a different network, but they are hard to find and expensive.

yeah mines is OTB 1.1.2. So just to clarify its next to impossible to unlock OTB 1.1.2 until the next firmware is released by Apple?
