Hey guys, I've got some quasi newb questions about jailbreaking my brand new 1.1.3 16gb iphone. I've done some reading and as far as I can tell, the easiest way to jailbreak it is to use ziphone 2.2 which I have. However, I am not interested in unlocking it since I use AT&T and don't have any intention of using it with another provider. That being the case....

1) Would I just use the ziphone.exe -j -a extensions? Wouldn't that just jailbreak and activate the phone without unlocking?
2)Are there any problems with jailbreaking but NOT unlocking an iphone with 1.1.3?
3)Will youtube work if I jailbreak it in this method? Any problems that I need to know about before I start jailbreaking it this weekend?

Thanks guys. My main interest is just getting 3rd party apps on the phone. Other than that, I'm fairly happy. However, I definitely would still want the map locator to work in 1.1.3 but youtube isn't so important to me. I just wanted to make sure I will be doing this correctly.

One more question...

Do I still need to activate the phone after jailbreaking it with the ziphone.exe -a extension if I already have it activated with AT&T?

jailbreaking my iphone

i have ran Ziphone 2.3 on my 1.1.3 iphone about 10 times i can not get it work. it looks like it works, but try to install install.app and it does nothing.
:confused::confused:

I had a version 1.1.3 iphone on a legit AT&T sim card and I used the leopard version of ZiPhone.

Here is what I did. I put the phone in restore mode. I opened Ziphone and checked Jailbreak only, it said Wait 45 secs. My iphone rebooted and everything works perfectly except now I have installer installed.

Now I did have a weird problem installing apps from Conceited Software, I had to add the source http://conceitedsoftware.com/iphone to installer because the one that was in my sources list didn't work for some reason.

Other than that, I haven't found a flaw with the application at all. Easiest jailbreak for 1.1.3 in my opinion.

Ok, thanks. I figured it out. I used ziphone 2.3 with the included gui and only checked for jailbreak. I have a 1.1.3 iphone and everything seems to be working great. Thanks again.
