I read that having USB-C will enable connecting an external hard drive. Does this mean that it will be possible to download music and photos from an external hard drive to the new ipads?

Honestly, since I have a MacBook Pro with USB-C I'm glad that the iPad Pro is also dropping lightning. It makes cable handling way easier and also allows for higher transfer speeds. Of course at first, It will probably confuse people that are used to have the same port on both iPhones and iPads.

I doubt it, I am sure it’ll be limited through iOS.

Edit: I specifically mean music I don’t think Apple is ever going to allow transfer music without iTunes

The ability to drive an external display - is that as simple as it sounds and does it work as it does with a laptop i.e. You can have an external display and use it to mirror the iPad or as a second display?

If you can, then that immediately means the iPad Pro becomes a potential laptop replacement for more people I guess? Our team could then probably switch from laptops to iPads...

....
They showed mirroring, and i heard one of the review sites say they are working on dual screen... but don't count on that until you hear it from apple.

Apple said just mirroring. Not as a second monitor.

Also some reviewers said the same. Also external hardrives will do nothing.

Who knows about printers

It does look like this is step one and iOS 13 will be the enabler for lots more functionality.

I thought mirroring and dual display (i.e. each display showing different stuff) are dependant on the app just like how AirPlay does it?
