Hi everyone, I've been loving more and more my MBP over the years and am definitively interested in an iMac to ditch the large desktop PC case...
However I have few questions:
- I have a 2.5'' 128GB x25 SSD in my PC, can I put it in the mac as I read that it is possible to have an extra SSD drive, in addition to the native 1TB (Is it possible to change that one? and RAM?).
- In terms of performances, is it more similar to a mac mini or a desktop mac? I've had some concerns with the mac mini i'm using at work, 2010 generation... A bit slow and buggy despite the specs...
- How good is the graphic card for such a big screen, I mean, can I hope to run diablo3 or stuff like that in a near future?
- what is the hardware update frequency, just to know if I should wait the next version (for info, when was the previous update before the mid-2010?)
- bonus question: what would be your top quad 27" pick in terms of perf/value?
Cheers!!! :D

Yeah, you can put the SSD in the optical location. It's a giant pain to do, ram is super easy though - it's one screw on the bottom edge of the machine.

Closer to a Mac Pro than a Mac Mini.

It does alright, the native resolution is rather high so there is only so much you can do with a form factor like this graphics card wise.

A new revision just came out, buy now.

I had an i5 and I will probably buy another in the future, they are super cheap on refurb now.

Refurb sending back?

Can you send back refurbs IF there are any issues?

And technically.. the refurbs are supposed to be... just the model before the one now right? or.. are they actually refurbed from other ones.

Which country are you in?

USA
UK

UK; thanks a lot!!!
Wow there are some good spots. I'm not at my work place but wonder if it is compatible with educational prices...
Is there a risk to get some dead pixels models?... tempting!

There is a risk even with brand new iMacs. Refurbs are still fully covered by Applecare. Im just waiting for the iMacs to appear, then Im ordering an i5.
