I recently inherited a 2007 24' iMac. It's in excellent condition, with an SSD installed and maxed RAM, so I'd like to keep it around or pass on to a family member who could make use of it.

Only issue is that it has the VESA mount preinstalled, and I'm having a hard time finding a stand for the same size/year at a reasonable price.

I have however found a 2009-2011 27' stand, which appears to have the same screw pattern for pretty cheap nearby. Anyone know if this would work?

I don't know about the newer stand. It may be a bit too tall, positioning the 24-inch display too high.
And, same screw pattern won't matter too much if the stand itself is wider (so might not fit in the mechanism)
But, if you can get the stand for cheap, I suppose you can try it out. Might be OK for you...

Or, have you looked for a vesa solution, to use the mount as it is now?
