hi just got my new imac duo think its great but confused about downloading and installing programs for some reason it puts the file onto the desktop ????? also i tryed to download limewirepro from p2p but it says what program do you want to install with ????????? thanks for any advice

The desktop is the default location for downloaded files. Applications will d/l a .dmg file. Opening the file should mount a disk image. Generally, you simply drag the application to your applications folder to install. After that, you can unmount disk image and trash .dmg file.

As for Limewire Pro, buy your damn apps.

.exe files will not work on a Mac.

Limewire is a terrible program for p2p. Get Acquisition.

In your browser preferences change the download location (make a download folder somewhere).

are you sure you're downloading Mac applications (for OSX)? Windows apps won't run (or install). If the installer or the app is an .exe file it's for Windows and won't work.
