Newish Mac advice

My old Core 2 Duo iMac has died after a long illness, looking to replace it...

Thoughts, a used Mac Pro (old style), not a really old one, as I need to run Yosemite. A new/refurb Mac Mini, a faster machine, but will the overall faster HD etc... of the Mac Pro be quicker?

I've had experience with a newish MacMini, and find it a poor performance, the integrated graphics is maybe the culprit?

If anyone is using a MacPro 3,1 or similar, I'd like to know what you think of it, especially comparing to a newer MacMini???

I'm still running my 2.8 Octo 3,1 with ssd boot and 660ti. I mostly use lightroom/photoshop and dabble with premier but it's starting to get slower than I would like. Still manageable as I'm not making money with it right now, but rendering in premier is a chore and the adjustment brush/photo zooming in lightroom are far from snappy. Airdrop and handoff don't work with this machine either. Everything else is still pretty smooth though in it's defense and I prefer my mac pro to the 2012 mini quad I used at work for a while (mostly graphics related). Hope this helps.

Thanks for this, so the Pro is quicker than the Mac Mini Quad?

I mostly use Flux for web design and Xcode,Flux is fine unless it's a massive site, but I find Xcode a huge hog, so I need a lot of RAM, my Core 2 Duo had 12GB, and that was OK, but more is always better
