when I open random pages that I believe have twitter or other social media boxes in the story my cpu temps skyrocket

com.apple.WebKit.WebContent is the rouge process

it jumps to 150% Cpu usage and temps rise quickly when the process appears

"Overheating" is a very specific term. Do your temperatures exceed 100°C?

In any case, I recommend reporting to Apple and sending them a relevant spindump.

I kill the process and quit news. Temps fall quick back to normal.

Highest I’ve seen it go is about 76c

And that is QUICK. Under 10 seconds.

I’ll do that. I can make this happen easily by opening News and any page that has social media posts in it. Like twitter and Instagram.
