I’ve used the Apple News app for years and never had this issue. When I open it there’s a few stories at the top and, when you scroll down you quickly see this.

This only occurs when I’m on cellular data. Wifi is fine.

I’ve tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling. I’ve toggled cellular data for this app off and on. No luck.

Any ideas?

I also get this every now and again, including on WiFi.
The only way I’ve found is to force quit and forget about it for a while. Usually, when I return to the app an hour later it works fine.

This started happening to me as well on beta. It seems to work as intended on my iPad which is not on the beta. I usually leave the app and when I come back it has loaded. Maybe some sort of beta bug?

I have noticed if you access News from the News widget, the front page fully loads, whereas most of the time, I get the same thing as the OP if I open News from the app itself on the phone.
