I like how tom tom stated they have been able to get the gps to work on the iPhone... Now it looks like we are just waiting for apple, from what it sounds like.

“We have made our navigation system run on the iPhone; it looks good and works very well,” said Dutch-based company TomTom, in a statement to msnbc.com. “We will have to look more closely to Apple’s strategy before we can say more about what kind of opportunities this will bring us.”

Poorly researched article as an Apple VP has already spoken publically about some of the GPS issues and how there are technical issues slowing things down but hopefully those are addressed soon and there is no contractual reason preventing turn-by-turn GPS coming to the iPhone.

How they did not find that for this story tells me they did not try very hard.
