Prior to the public beta, I tried iOS beta 2 . In proactive, whenever there was a news article I would tap it and it would open up in Safari, however now, tapping the articles does nothing.

Tapping the news in the proactive page with the contacts/apps/locations also does nothing in Public Beta 1. I suspect it's just because it's beta and not full functional yet. Perhaps next build. (Which may come out as early as this coming Tuesday.)

But it was working with beta 2...I'm surprised that they broke it in a later beta.

It works for me in PB1.
Tap on one of the suggested news posts and it opens it in the news.

It did however not work for me once on a search.
I tapped the suggested news article under my search it opened the news app and said something like 'article not available'.

I had news on the proactive page until yesterday, today it's gone. I setup News on my iPad, selected the sources that sounded good and expected that work to be reflected on my phone. As of yesterday my phone and iPad match. Once that started to work, once News started to work on my phone, the suggested news went away. It's cool, just noting what I have experienced.
