OK, I drank the potion. Signed up for trial period of News+. But there is no icon visible. How do I start it? The App Store says it is installed and I can open it from there. But that is cumbersome.

I just click on the News app and then the News+ on the bottom bar.

I’m a little confused though- I was thinking I would be able to read the WSJ, LA Times etc but all I see in the News+ section are magazines. It reminds me of those old scammy magazine subscription services.

Either way, I cancelled my New York Times and Wall Street Journal home deliveries yesterday.

I can do a search within the news app and find some of my local newspapers. Can subscribe to magazines (but no High Times) but there's 3-4 that I am vaguely interested in and NO newspaper subscriptions.

The newspaper access is a scattering of articles. Nothing that I can't get with local paywalled papers (sigh).

Deleted it.

Thanks for the heads up. I have subscriptions with two newspapers and they are an exact digital replica of the printed version, which I like better.

Hah. Long ago I buried the News icon in a folder called iCrap. Along with GarageBand, Tips, FaceTime, etc.

I subscribe to the WSJ. I will see how much I get through News+ vs the WSJ app.

I would like to save $28 a month but I am concerned by what may get left out in News+.
