I just bought this and it doesn't seem able to import my opml file correctly from opmlmanager.com, which is what it suggests.

I've also had problems importing an OPML file. I import it from my website, it imports fine, but when I exit the program and load it back up, all the feeds are gone. So basically it's useless for me at this point. 
The developer of Newsstand told me this when I wrote to him about my problem, which is a known issue that'll will be fixed when Apple approves the next update:
This fixed the issue for me, and after that, I was able to exit normally via the Home button.

Yeah, using Bloglines did clear up the issue. Now that my feeds are nicely in place, I have to admit that it's a very quick and very smooth application. Should assist my iPod in replacing my laptop for daily use on campus.
i bought it last night and overall i think it is excellent.
i'm having two problems:
1) when you search for a feed by URL and there are a lot of results, you can't scroll to the top of the list. Try searching for a feed under http://www.comiclist.com
You'll see the list fly by and you can't access the results at the top.
2) I was comparing my feed article list for blabbermouth.net to my other RSS reader (which is pretty good at $0.99) and i noticed that Newsstand was missing many articles. Can someone explain this ??

once you click on an article, it's not in the unread anymore and it's default on newsstand.
as for the scrolling, simply press back to go to your feed list or whatever, and go back to it.
2) I think that newsstand only displays the most recent 50 articles (plus any that have been flagged) for any specific feed. that might be the cause of the discrepency.
i sent the dev an email requesting he put in some kind of option along the lines of not capping to a max 50 articles for any given feed but having a time based setting that auto deleted articles over x number of days. That way, if there were more than 50 articles in a short period of time or since the last time you checked, you would still have access to thos articles. his reply was pretty much, "i'll think about it". Well needless to say, that answer was a bit lame. That kind of provided a bit of insight into the dev's mindset as far as fielding customer requests.
not to mention, that for any app involved in potentially large numbers of "articles" or mails of any kind, I believe a setting to allow for auto deletions of articles or emails past a certain number of days is a MUST HAVE. Apparently not for the dev.
i think you misunderstood both of my issues.
for #2, i just corresponded with the developer and he acknowledged that its a bug. The fix has been submitted for the next release. What I was saying is that I choose http://www.comiclist.com and it returns a list of like 15 feeds. I can't even see the first 5 choices because the list zooms to the bottom of the list and there is no scrolling.
for #1, I'm saying there are gaps in my articles for a particular feed. I see them on one app but not in another. I'm thinking that maybe a feed only makes a certain number of new articles available and old ones drop off and i missed them because of when i refreshed.
Well your experience differs from mine. I sent a similar question and received a reply within minutes saying "It keeps 50 items per feed, flagged items however are never automatically deleted. The next update will add a preference to store 25, 75 or 100 items instead."
Seems pretty good mindset to me and I'm more than happy with my purchase.

i found another serious bug which he said would be addressed in the next release:
When you have enough folders to fill the screen and then you try to move a feed to another folder, you cannot choose any folders that are lower than the first screen because it auto-scrolls back to the top before you can select the folder. As a workaround you can move the target folder closer to the top to get the feed moved, but this is a really annoying bug.

sorry to hear that but it seems that loss of data is not so much the app or developer's fault but more something to do with the update process on the iphone or through itunes. this seems to happen across different apps and across different people to be traced back to bad code per say. right now updating any app with data associated with it is pretty much a crap shoot. hopefully the iphone/itunes update tomorrow will resolve this problem
