Except there's nothing heavy-handed about what Apple did. The comedians over the past week missed the facts.
Reporting a crime to the police, or defending your property, is not "heavy-handed". Stealing what belongs to someone else is "heavy-handed." No matter what one of America's funniest demagogues wants you to believe.
By the way, looking back at Stewart's segment, it's probably one of his most non-serious segments ever. If he was really serious about it, he would have canned all the gushiness and not plugged Apple's product at the very end. It was more like a lovers' quarrel, not a serious commentary. it was interesting because it was the first time he did something on Apple.
I actually like the segment now. It turned out to be a giant plug for Apple gear.
It'll all show in Apple's numbers anyway. Particularly in the satisfaction reports. No room for comedy there.
