ZZZzzzz . . . no one will care a week from today. All that matters is more gear from Apple. More iPads for everyone. That's the name of the game. Great products and things that cause long lines to form outside Apple Stores on a regular basis can wash away a thousand little sins.

Apple shapes the media. Now watch them go and defy them completely. Take notes.

Except there's nothing heavy-handed about what Apple did. The comedians over the past week missed the facts.

Reporting a crime to the police, or defending your property, is not "heavy-handed". Stealing what belongs to someone else is "heavy-handed." No matter what one of America's funniest demagogues wants you to believe.

By the way, looking back at Stewart's segment, it's probably one of his most non-serious segments ever. If he was really serious about it, he would have canned all the gushiness and not plugged Apple's product at the very end. It was more like a lovers' quarrel, not a serious commentary. it was interesting because it was the first time he did something on Apple.

I actually like the segment now. It turned out to be a giant plug for Apple gear.

It'll all show in Apple's numbers anyway. Particularly in the satisfaction reports. No room for comedy there.
