What will the next gen iphone price rate look like

im thinking possibly $50 8GB Iphone 3g or even free with 2 year contract. That would be an epic move

Im prediciting

8GB iphone 3g $50
16GB Iphone 3GS $100
32GB Iphone *** $200
64GB Iphone *** $300

or the same thing minus the orginal 3g im guessing

if the iphone went from 600 orginally i am pretty sure they could drop it $50 dollars

This. Basically what Apple did when the 3GS came out. Phase out the high end of the old model, keep the low end of the old model for the cheap price point, and then have the new models at the normal price points.

This! I doubt it'll be a 64GB at launch though. Maybe in January 2011.

There will most likely be two sizes at launch, just as with the 3G and 3GS (I don't know about the original iPhone). The company that provides the flash storage has already debuted 64GB chips, which means the next iPhone will be 32/64 and the next iPod touch will be 64/128.

they should put 3g for free till they are sold out and reduce the prices by $50 ... like 3GS 16gb for $50, 4G 32gb for $150 and so on
i don't think it will happen though...
can't wait for 128gb touch...but it will be expensive...the 64gb chips are expensive right now

There are quite a few reports going around that flash memory is not in abundance, the iPad could not have helped that.

I'd imagine if the 8GB stays around it will either be free or at its current price. One must wonder how many more they have lying around...

I think having the 3G as a free w/ contract phone would be excellent. Choose between a "dumb" phone for free, or a iPhone (even with a data plan). The choice is in apple's favor.

I really doubt that they would do free, even with a two year contract. My personal reasoning about this is look at the iPhone 3g 8GB Refurb, from AT&T with a two year contract it is still $49.00. I just think that people see the value with the iPhone and will always be willing to pay a little more for it than to get a free "dumbphone"

I doubt they will continue selling the iphone 3G model.
Its going to be over 2 year old by then. They will most likelly sell the new iphone and the 3GS models. No point on keeping them all available.
Also the newest software will most likelly be a drag for the 3G or 2G model iphones.
