Ok .. so Samsung announced a new 256GB SSD and Toshiba a 240 HDD ( both 1.8). I dont now the specific dates when they storage disks will be out but seems like it wont be later than 2 Q 2009.

This leads to a new MBA speculation...

When do you think these MBA will be available?

1-- 256 SSD -- 4 GB RAM
2-- 240 HDD -- 4 GB RAM

In a coffee shop.
Yes, - going on the timescale of making sich technology availaable/affordable, and Apple's own timetables, I'd guess a timeframe of around a year, also before SSD drives of that capacity make an appearance.

Cheers

Are the drives 5 mm or 8 mm (not sure on the exact numbers)? Only the smaller ones fit in the MacBook Air.

I believe Intel will be updating their SFF CPUs in Q2 2009 or so, so we may see an update then. So about 3 quarters from now. I also agree on the 4 GB RAM, although I think Apple might have a version with 2 GB RAM and a smaller HD at $1499 or so, if Apple wants to lower the entry price.

And yes, I recall people claiming a yearly update cycle for the MacBook Airs earlier in the year too...
