I had my credit card primed to get the new 27" until I read all these issues here. So, I'm going to wait it out until the next generation.

Does anybody have any idea when that might be?

Thanks!

It will be when the next generation is released.

that's what i always do, let the guinea pigs try it out first.

if it weren't for us guinea pigs... you wouldn't have a Rev B...

Order it... if it's not up to your standard, return it or wait until Apple acknowledges the problem and has a fix...

According to the buyer's guide here the avg refresh is 221 which puts us to early summer roughly. I would be the happiest person in the world if the new iMac included blu ray, ssd and light peak, an hdmi input slot would be great but highly doubtful.

But Summer isn't even over? Or does America have some other time for Summer. And I hope it gets a better GPU, which I assume it will.

American company. American website. American summer.

Welcome aboard.

Your loss. My i7 has no issues to speak of and I'm loving it.

If this is what being a guinea pig means then I'm one happy rodent.

Me too. My i5 has been working flawlessly for a while now.

No problems here.

The display input functionality still needs some work, but otherwise it works very well.

Probably WWDC 2010 so that would mean late June though it might be sooner because Intel will release Clarkdale CPUs in late January and they are perfect for iMac and ATI is rolling out mobile Radeon 5000 series soon as well.

why not wait for rev B, assuming they actually figure out whats wrong with the screen.

Why not just wait until november to the new iMacs. Or wait until the 2011 iMac comes out.. The 27" iMac is 2 month-old and you are already saying that we should wait. And don't forget that if you come across a faulty 27", then you can even ask for a refund.. So that should not make you wait until apple launches the revision..

Now, if you come across with 3 faulty replacements for example, then you should definitely ask for a refund and wait until next revision. But you should not give in buying the iMac just because it can be a faulty one (unless you are really budgeted). If it is faulty you can have a refund easily
