When I was watching the leopard announcement again, and read the mac buyers guide, something caught my eye: every product (except the B&W Macbooks) is about to update soon.
Also, Leopard is announced to have full 64bit support, from top to bottom, and will be able to run 32-bit natively next to 64-bit.
So what would be the use of still having a 32bit machine, if everything is just made to work with 64bit??
No I saw that and taught about it, I'm almost sure the next MB pros, iMac and maybe Mac Minis will be64-bit machines :D
anyone with me on that?

Don't worry that much. Leopard will support G4, G5, Core Duo, Core 2 Duo and Xeon macs. A mac doesn't have to be 64-bit to run Leopard and Leopard will run fine on a 32-bit mac. All the Intel Macs except the Mini are 64-bit.

They already are, except for the Mac Mini which still uses the 32 bit Core Duo.
I wouldn't worry about it though, support for older models seems to hang around for a long while. It did for Classic, it does for PPC, and it most likely will for 32 bit x86.

Just to clarify, all CD machines are 32-bit. 64-bit only came in with C2D. So if you have an older MBP or MB CD it is 32-bit.

Oops:eek: , I should of said all of the Intel macs Apple makes right now (Core 2 Duo and Xeon) are 64-bit except the Mini which uses 32-bit Core Duo.

yeah, I know leopard will run on 32bit machines, they would be nuts to make it 64bit-only :p
but I didn't know all the C2D's were already 64bit! I tried to find on apples website whether or not they were, but only the Mac Pro explicitly said it was 64bit, so I figured the rest was 32bit...
so they already are 64bit :p goodie! then the Mac Mini will follow I guess

Hopefully this makes it all but certain that the mini will be updated just prior or in conjunction with the Leopard rollout! :)
