I am going to be switching to AT&T and I was wondering if I should wait for the next gen? Is there a typical time that Apple releases?

Thanks,

Jake

Think it would be worth the wait or will it just be a speed upgrade like the 3Gs?
I think there will be a complete design overhaul and maybe a compelling new feature or two. There have been rumours of a 64gb 3G(S) before the next iPhone but nothing else in the pipeline until June 2010.

Thanks, I'll try to hold back! I have wanted an iPhone since they first released them!

I've had the 1st gen iphone since it the year it came out (well i got it for christmas that year) and its a little battered and bruised and i had the option of asking for the 3gs as a gift this christmas. Like someone said above, i'm going to wait because i know in a few months there will be something from apple that will be worth the wait. (hopefully)

With AT&T's Problems with the Data the IPhone uses i would suggest waiting but Verizon Might Release the Next Gen IPhone in the Summer of 2010

According to what I've read online, the iPhone has a good chance of being released between the 28th june-2nd july next year. The story is that there's a booking at the Moscone Centre in San Francisco, where apple has held the WWDC event for the past three years, and where they released the past two iPhones. The booking is labeled 'corporate event', which is the label used by apple in the past. You can read that on iLounge under news. Hope that helps.

The rumors for the 64gb iPhone are most likely true, as Toshiba (I think) has released new NANDflash chips that are 64gb. Right now the biggest is a 32gb in the 3GS. I found this on iLounge as well, so head over there if you want to read the article.

That def. points to a more definitive date. The Moscone Center is the traditional place for the June events.

Actually the iPhone is more than likely going to be introduced 2 weeks after the conference.. But of course iPhone os 4.0 along side a hardware overhaul..
