Again, sorry for wut you guys will see as a stupid question.

Part joke, part truth...Apple has a tendency to release new product on Tuesdays. A lot of the time, when you see it, though, it will be said in a joking manner about waiting for updates. "Powerbook G5s next tuesday!!1!!"

Ever seen that bad movie "The Money Pit" with Tom Hanks? The builders in the movie were dodgy and everytime they were asked when something was going to be finished they would reply "Two weeks." Well, "Next Tuesday" is our version of "two weeks."

In the past (although less and less frequently now) Apple released its new hardware on a Tuesday. As more and more people came along looking for when Apple was going to release something we'd start automatically replying "next Tuesday" even though we had no idea.

It's a big nerdy Mac in-joke, especially when combined with speculation about the never-released G5 PowerBook.

KILL THE NOOB! KILL THE NOOB!
*cough*
Apple usually releases new products on Tuesday.
So when we're all expecting a new product to be released we think it will be on Tusday.
And if nothing happens, it'll happen "next Tuesday"
Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.
KILL! KILL! I WANT N00B VAINS IN MY TEEETH!

Just wait until next Tuesday and you'll see.
IMO he`ll have to wait atleast 3-5 next tuesdays before something really happens. BTW as Chundles said this is getting less n less common now. The MB was launched on Monday morning.(Thank God it did. Or else I couldnt get it for 2 more months as my cousin was leaving states on tuesday morning. If the MB was launched on Tuesday then I had to buy it from India only meaning a wait for atleast 2 more months)

It's a funny way to say "no one knows". Because really, no one knows when updates are going to happen but people still always ask.

Well, I guess God and Steve know...

I've just ordered a 512MB Shuffle, so I predict a Rev.B Shuffle while be released next Tuesday, with one or more of the following: smaller form factor/bigger memory/lcd screen/now includes free socks. ;)
