So I am considering replacing my Nexus 4 with either a Nexus 5 or Moto X. Both would be in 32gb. I am leaning more towards the Moto X however. I like the size and design and the features that it comes with. Moto maker is also fun and a huge plus. My one and only worry is the longevity of the device. Spec wise the X and N4 are nearly identical aside from going from quad to dual core. The N5 I worry about the battery life.

Any input is appreciated.

Just ordered a Navy Blue Moto X with yellow accents, I did decide on 16gb though as I don't keep much on my phone in the first place. Looking forward to all day battery life again (something I don't get with my other two phones) better reception and LTE. Hopefully performance is similar because my Nexus 4 is still buttery smooth

You also need to take into account that specs are not everything. Both the N5 and Moto x are pretty much stock android, but do the little things such as moto x's "active display" do anything for you? Would you rather direct support from google or hope that motorola is able to keep their updates going like they currently are? It all comes down to preferences, quad vs dual core on a cellphone is pointless unless you're going to be doing stuff that will actually USE the extra two cores.
