Anyone have experience with both? Really want a phone that has usbc to go along with my other usbc accessories and laptop. Currently using the G5 Plus which has been quite good. I can get a 5X for $250 brand new and just wondering if it would be a downgrade or upgrade. Only downside I've been reading about is a bootloop issue which has me wondering.. Reason I'm considering is stock Android, faster updates and of course the usbc being a big part as well.

Thoughts? Thank you in advance!

I would take the g5p for sure

If you want a bigger screen, I would take the ZTE V8 pro over both. It is cheaper as well, awesome phone. The Honor 6X would be another 250 or below choice to check out

Found out Honor 6X is micro USB.. I'm not interested in a ZTE phone. Thank you though. If that 6X had it id grab one for sure. Great price.

I think the Honor 8 is on sale for $270 right now, so you could go with that instead?

I had a ZTE V8 and use a ZTE Axon 7, both are amazing phones. What is wrong with ZTE? I actually have a ZTE Axon 7 and 7 Mini for sale right now, both are dang nice

a better place
Moto G5 Plus (4gb version) would be the better buy. Even though its a Snapdragon 625, it has great battery and runs android Nougat very smoothly, the camera whilst not stella compared to flagships would be better than the 5X.

Going to check more on the Honor 8 pricing. Had the ZTE Axon Mini. Solid build and usbc but battery just wasn't that great. Had trouble making it through a full day. Friend that got one also had same problem. Tried a ZTE before that which I wasn't thrilled with either. Currently using the Moto G5 Plus. Very happy with it except it's still using micro USB. Might just have to live with that I guess.
[doublepost=1492080977][/doublepost]Thanks. Going to check more in to this phone. Just wanna find out about durability and battery life.

The honor 8 is a very nice phone. I enjoyed my time with it. I have a thread somewhere on here about it and with camera comparison samples between it and my then S7 and iPhone.

Battery routinely lasted me a full day without worry, and its a very solid phone, but being full glass - get a case :)

The Honor 8 is very nice, I had one and only got rid of it because 5.2" was just too small. I am too used to the 5.5" screen

I'd say go with the Moto. I had a 5x when they first came out and that thing was garbage. Slow and laggy, couldn't keep up with the simplest tasks. I'm sure 7.1.2 has helped but I've heard nothing but praise for the G5 Plus (and the latest G series as well).

EDIT: Droid-Life just posted this article:

Think I found the perfect phone for "me". My buddy recently got a Samsung Galaxy A3 2017 phone unlocked. Has a 4.7" Amoled screen, 2GB ram, expandable storage, IP68 certified and uses USB Type C. Hits every check and the IP68 is cherry on the topping. Build seemed great, it was fast and even camera was quite nice. Have one on the way already lol :).$260 USD not bad at all for all that. Will be throwing a video up on my YouTube channel as soon as it arrives next week.

Hope everyone had a good Easter!

yeah and I heard on a podcast it is 600
Yea. All done spending 600+ on phones when there is so many great options at half that or less to buy outright and own.

Size was a big deal. Also important items included the usbc connection and IP68 certified was a bonus. Couldn't find anything similar in the $250 range with those features.

Very similar deal to what I got for my SE. I may not have an AMOLED screen, expandable storage, an IP68 rating, nor USB Type C, but I like the sound of what you got for $260. I paid $185 for my SE. I did get my S7 for $235 brand new though. Only missing the USB Type C there, but going to try upgrading to the S8 soon!

Thanks! Yes that's a good deal on the SE and S7 you got for sure! S8 feels and looks great from the little I got to play with it.

What software does your new phone come with? And can you get Wi-Fi Calling built into the OS since it's unlocked?
