In my view, the Moto X. Both are quite similar in terms of screen tech, cameras, build (different takes but overall similar quality) and processor. Screen size absolutely breaks the deal for me. You're also getting expandable storage (5X only goes up to 32GB internally, so that can be needed), bigger battery and customisation.

If you're looking to buy, it could be worth it to wait for the next Moto. Don't know how long it will take, but it might be worth the wait.

Thinking about buying it soon when a good sale happens.

What is value, or more what do you value?

Probably future proofing, maybe Type C and Nexus Imprint, so I guess the 5X, especially now that I read Moto has substantial customer service issues.

For future proofing the Nexus is the best.

Question is if I can get Nexus 6P for $350ish, if I can, easily worth the extra $100 upgrade. I really want another S7/S7 Edge, but it's too costly at this time. And by the time it drops to $400, it will be iPhone 7 Plus/Note 6 time.
