Nexus 6 Battery Life

Thus far, I am for the most part satisfied with the Nexus 6's battery life. It isn't phenomenal (as I'd hoped), but it definitely gets the job done.
On the day in these screenshots, I was about to go 17+ hours on a charge, with more than 4 hours of screen time, along with almost 2.5 hours of talk time. All of this while being in a low signal area (65% time without signal).

I had GPS, bluetooth, and wifi all turned on. I also had ambient display (with approx. 40% brightness), always listening (OK Google), and Google Now turned on. Gmail is set to sync 4 different email accounts, with 10-20 emails coming in each hour.

I really hoped the battery would be better,they really didn't need that quad HD screen to be honest,it's too far fetched.

I think they had to include the QHD display to keep it competitive on a spec sheet. Had they launched the Nexus 6 with "just" a 1080p display, you'd have heard a bunch of moans and groans about how the display is "only" 1080p. With that said, I have had some very respectable screen times with this phone. I have had screen times up to a little under 6 hours, with about an hour of talk time.
With this phone supposedly benefiting from Project Volta and a large battery, I was hoping to get battery life around what I saw with the G Flex. Unfortunately, the battery life isn't quite that good, though it is better than what I experienced on the G3. Hopefully as more devs update their apps to take advantage of Volta, and Google continues to optimize Lollipop, the battery life improves even more. Time will tell I suppose. In the meantime, I cannot really complain though.

My Nexus 6 and iPhone 6+ both do quite well, a little better than I expected being such a heavy user.

The Nexus does last longer which is a product of energy efficient Lollipop OS. Battery life on my Nexus 5 with Android 4.4.4 was pretty good. In fact I must say that when Google pushed out Lollipop I let it sit since my N5 was performing so well. Fast, stable and ultra reliable for ages I was hesitant to change anything.

Yet lollipop was so good on my Nexus 6 I decided to upgrade. I'm both happy and relieved that the upgrade was very smooth and the battery life is up substantially. All my apps work great, it's improved in every area. The days of buggy inevitably touchy Android phones like I had three years ago are over.

It's the new era of excellent Android phones.
