I got this nfc tag detected notification pop up on my phone yesterday while I was inside my house, thing is there’s no other devices that were in the room besides a Nintendo switch. Also no one in this house owns any AirTags, and my Bluetooth was off:/ I didn’t click on the link.
I’m trying to make sense of it, it’s the first time something like this happens.
Does anyone have an idea?
thnx

NFC has nothing to do with other devices or Bluetooth. It could simply be a business card or a sticker on a piece of paper. Something containing an NFC tag must have been nearby your phone, within a centimeter or so for it to have been detected.

The comments on this Reddit post basically explains everything.

My wife got a similar notification. Came on here looking for advice and came across this thread. I’m guessing she placed her phone on her BMW key fob which I believe has NFC. Can’t think of anything else… whatever it is, told her not to open the link and swipe it away. It does have “Apple” in the link which is strange though.
