Now that MLB has perhaps the best app of ALL TIME, who fell asleep over at the NFL? Why is there at least an official NFL app? Ideally they would allow for some time of audio/video streaming. They should model after MLB. A HUGE missed opportunity for $$ for the NFL and APPLE.

The only one who could make such an app is the NFL itself since it involves broadcasts and whatnot. Difference is MLB has a dedicated "advanced media" team to do the website, the app, gameday audio, video, mlb.tv, etc. NFL has websites that look like they were made in 1998. You do the math...

I agree, I suppose that I what my complaint is aimed at. They need to modernize!

Downloaded the (excellent-looking) Wimbledon 2009 App yesterday and it got me thinking about stuff like this...

I wish the Premier League would do something similar... even if they charged like £5-£10 for it, I think there'd be a HUGE market for the App, if it came with push updates of scorelines, video highlights, etc etc...

I thought the reason the NFL didn't have an app was because they have a deal with Sprint

Would LOVE to see an NFL app but I don't think it will happen, this year at least.....

It's funny how they used to say that baseball was behind the times but they have embraced the internet more than other sports. NFL should learn from MLB. That way I can watch my Cowboys all the time.

I was with my mom at a Sprint store a few days ago and the sales people kept saying that exact same thing. According to what they said, Sprint has an exclusive deal with the NFL and cell phone content. To bad for the NFL because I know I would put down $10.00 in a heartbeat for a NFL app like the MLB one.

NFL rep: "Well you can when you buy NFL Sunday Ticket, only on DirecTV."
