My wife started complaining that my old 2007 mac mini was no longer able to run the new sales software she uses.... so I figured after 9 years it should be upgraded.
Picked up a 27" retina 5K iMac from the refurb store, around $1850 including tax.
This is a late 2015 (Skylake) mid-range model: i5 cpu, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 390GPU. I think that's a hell of a deal.
I'm adding another 16GB Crucial memory (just because), and have an external USB3 SSD plugged in with my Lightroom Library (synced from my MBP).
This is the second Mac I've gotten from the refurb store, the other one being my 2011 Mac Mini server. In both cases the computers were flawless.... no visible nicks or dirt, they seemed brand new except for the plain white box.
Don't be afraid of refurbs, you can get an excellent deal!
