I ordered the base model with two 500GB HDs. When browsing today, I realized Apple sent me a unit with 2 750GB 7200rpm HDs instead. The box says 2x500GB. Can't believe it took me several days to notice that. :)

It happens fairly often with refurbs. I got 4GB of RAM in my 2008 MBP even though I ordered it with 2 GB.

What does the above bolded text refer to? Did you work for Apple?

No I buy mod them and sell them since 2006. Every once in a while you get extra ram or a better hdd when you get a refurb. I wonder if it is intentional on apples part. I just about never buy a new machine from apple only refurbs. Better price and the sometimes better specs with the same one year warranty.

Oh cool. Yes, I do the same thing. Every Mac I've ever owned, save the first one, has been a refurb. Never an issue with them. :)
