Hi,

I am allergic to Nickel and want an Apple Watch. Obviously, I have to get the Apple Watch Sport because of the aluminum case instead of the watch I like which is Stainless Steel (contains Nickel).

I don't like the looks of the bands that come with the Apple Watch Sport. I want a more elegant look like leather. The problem is all the bands I find, the buckle is stainless steel and that won't work.

I've looked on Amazon and they have some that says, "Not compatible with Apple Watch Sport", I guess there is a difference in the 'ears' where the band meets the watch.

Has anyone found a hypoallergenic band that would work with the Apple Watch Sport?

The bands are comparable across the range so you do have choices. Considered the leather loop with sg sport it's a nice combo??

Also the dlc coated stainless should be compatible with you also.

Hey I know you probably have your watch already... But for those out there who are still looking for the right Apple Watch solutions when a nickle allergy is in play, I found the only Apple Watch Sport that didn't give me a reaction was the gold one. Apple's allergy warning lists space grey, rose gold, and aluminum, but not gold. So after my rose gold watch gave me a nasty rash in less than a day, I exchanged it for the sport gold... I've not had an issue since!! I'm very allergic to nickel, if you can wear sensitive ear earings you might be okay with any of the sport watches, but if you are like me you might want to stick with the gold sport watch. I'm looking into third party watch bands for a classier look.

actressa, thanks for the heads up. I'll pass this to my wife.

Where's the allergy warning list you mentioned?

Nickel. Apple Watch, the space gray and rose gold aluminum Apple Watch Sport, the stainless steel portions of some Apple Watch bands, and the magnets in the watch and bands contain some nickel.

At least the 316 steel used by Apple (and most watch manufacturers) is less reactive than, for example, Rolex's 904L steel.

My wife says she'll like gold or silver for the iPhone 6Plus. She already doesn't want rose gold or space gray. Now all I have to do is talk her into wanting her own watch. ;)

I have a rose gold watch, which I have not had a reaction to, but even a few hours with the sport band results in a reaction where the little round metal backing for the clasp sits on the inside of my wrist. I got a clone on Amazon, which was supposed to be nickel free, and I wore it for about a week before getting a reaction. I swim daily, so a leather band is no help. I'd love suggestions.

Sorry to hear about the allergy. What about the nylon bands? I've got both leather and nylon and both look great
