I’ve acquired a x1900gt for cheap on eBay and I’m really having a hard time to get it flashed power pc.

I firstly tried to use AtiMultiflasher on Leopard in safe mode but nothing happens on reboot? ( card seen on system profiler as no kext loaded )

Then I’ve put the card on my pc workstation but it gave no output at all.
I’ve managed to install it on windows 10 with legacy drivers as a secondary card with another non UEFI card and ran furmark with no issue on the x1900 using also the dvi ports on separate monitors. ATiflash under dos or windows doesn’t see the card, but gpu z and windows can see the card (minus the bios version?) so I can’t flash it PowerPC.

I’ve also tried with a ch341 programmer but it shorts when connected to the bios chip. I suppose if it was fried wouldn’t complete 3D stress tests?

Also tried it on an old amd Athlon correct era feeding the extra power from my g5 but no video out too.

Kinda lost right now, anybody has any idea? Thanks

It has been recognised and worked straight away! Thanks so much

As I've heard someone say before, we can only be thankful the 6600 LE was in fact limited edition. The fewer the better!

I think the only real reason to own the LE is if you need the flexibility in running 8 monitors. Their lower wattage and lower VRAM would be handy for that (max pcie combined output is 200w and max vram combined is 1GB).

Hi everyone. I'm having a hell of a time flashing a Connect3d x1900gt with the MacElite x1900gt rom. Here are all of the things i've tried.
  1. Tried with dual PCIe video cards, single gpu. Using FreeDos to boot.
  2. Tried totally separate system with intel igpu and gpu.
  3. atiflash 3.15 - Won't recognize the card
  4. atiflash 3.99 - Sees the card but tried every flag I can think would make a difference just gives the error as seen in the screenshot.
  5. Tried a mix bag of versions of atiflash and the ones that can see the card gives the same error or variations on Invalid PC BIOS Image, Rom Not Erased, etc.
So I've never gotten it to flash at all. What the heck am I doing wrong here?? I've uploaded both the dumped rom as well at the EliteMac x1900gt rom for your reference.

You try actual MS Dos? Because it could be something as simple as that.

@thespecificocean Have you tried ATIFlash 4.07? If memory serves, I had success with using that version to flash an X1900 GT Rev. 2.

Not sure which iteration of DOS I used, though. I believe it was FreeDOS.

Yup tried all of the 4.x variants.

Just tried with a Win98boot.iso I just found and exact same errors :/

That's a huge upgrade from the 6600 LE. If you could post some benchmarks/fps comparisons I'd love to see them :)

Heya sorry I don’t, pretty much ditched it straight away and got a 7800. But then found a cheap x1900gt so upgraded again!

That’s weird man, we have the same bios.

I don’t recall using a command to unlock the bios, so that’s maybe what’s tripping out atiflasher?

Should I try flashing on a board with PCI graphics? Thats the only thing I haven't tried at this point.

I suppose by now you already tried.

My motherboard with Xeon v3 has UEFI and Legacy hybrid so I could ran a gtx1070 along with a 7800, but maybe check yours for all set as legacy on the bios.

let us know how it goes!
