I have a charging dock for my apple watch that lets me put it sideways, so it will display in Nightstand Mode. That works...but, ONLY if the crown is up, if the crown is down, no matter what I do, it will not display in Nightstand Mode.

Is this normal (it didn't seem to be mentioned in the Apple info, https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT205045, although the picture used does show the crown up)? Or, is something wrong?

Thanks!

It's more curiosity, and, so I don't have to worry about which side is up. Seems to me it would detect orientation, and put out the display so it shows correctly no matter which way you put it on the charging stand. If this is "working as designed", it, to me, is another bad designed and thought-out thing, like the fact the Maps App on the iPhone can only be seen in one direction, as I would like to put it in my car's cup holder, with the speaker facing up, so I can hear the directions better...but, it is then displaying upside-down. Thanks, BrodieApple.

True, it would be an improvement to support both ways. Maybe it's just you though, I don't actually have an Apple Watch

The buttons are meant to be pressed to silent or turn off the alarm. Depending what kind of dock you have of course, but I'm guessing most docks the buttons will be harder to press if they are facing down.

It's just him. It makes no sense to put it the other way round because you can't push the buttons for the only two functions in nightstand mode. People's issues...

Yeah, all alarm clocks in my life had actually the buttons ON TOP not on the bottom, but that's just me.

Seems to me it's to mute the alarm
