Yeah, I use it and it's ok. The most useful feature is being able to transfer a photo wirelessly from the camera to my phone. The UI and the reliability of the connection is kinda suspect. I think the rumor is this new app (if that's what it is) would be able to do things like update your camera firmware or potentially add new features (perhaps even for a price). Maybe they just needed help fixing what they got.

For example, you will be able to purchase new features (filters?) from the app

Millions spent on marketing, and they still won't get it... We want speed, and reliability. We want it to just work. What good is an app that allows you to buy digital filters for $0.99, but still takes ten steps, five minutes and three attempts each time you want to pair your camera? Leave Instagram filters to Instagram, and concentrate on making your gear work faster and better.

Agreed. I have no desire for digital in camera filters or effects. I have a feeling that's what Nikon would be working with Apple on. "Cool stuff" for the consumer / social media market (which is no doubt the largest market). As you said, I would be interested in tight wireless integration between an IOS device and my D750, a well though out UI, the ability to update firmware / OS with the app. I think it would be cool to use my iPhone as an extension of the cameras OS when on a tripod and even get real time feedback/analytics of the image kind of like you can do when tethered to software like Capture One Pro. Who knows, but I imagine anything they come up with will be geared towards the get it on Instagram with the latest cool filter instantly crowd.

I was pretty disappointed with the current Nikon app and its ability to maintain a decent connection with my D750.
All I want is Live View on my camera with the ability to take a picture and change my settings.
