Is it possible to power a Nikon SLR camera (D40 or D90 in particular) with a USB connection? Either without a battery in, or charging the battery via USB while in the camera and powering the camera off the battery...

Thanks!

So it can charge the battery or power the camera via some sort of (DC, presumably) power adaptor?
You need this adapter. According to Nikon, it can also power the D40 (although I don't remember such a port, then again, I own a D80). According to amazon, it also charges your camera while bhphoto doesn't mention that. But it's quite pricey. I'm sure there are third-party adapters.
