ESPN is having a vote of Pop Culture icons over the last 25 years. The Mac/PC (sic) is now up against the Nintendo game console. Interesting poll...its set up like the NCAA basketball tournament with brackets. Apple is in the final for the top tech gadget of the past 25 years. Too bad they are actually talking about the Apple II and not the Macintosh...

Anyway, here's the link:

looks like apple is getting their asses hammered in this category.

Why did Caddyshack win in the Movie section?!?

What was it up against? Caddyshack is a classic.

Nintendo versus Apple computer is such a foolish comparison.

Let's compare diamonds to gold chains in the 80s! Diamonds are better, but gold chains are cheaper and more prevalent. Equally foolish.

There were seven other movies in this section: E.T., Terminator, Pulp Fiction, Friday the 13th, Lord Of The Rings, Breakfast Club and the final contestant was The Empire Strikes Back.

I only saw Caddyshack once and couldn’t watch all of it because it was too stupid. I already forgot what the movie is about and don’t feel like it should be one of the most important eight movies from the past 25 years. Perhaps it’s something else in the US...

uughhhhh caddyshack? picking your eyeballs out with cocktail sticks is more interesting than that film.

Wasn't it part of those National Lampoon's series of mindless dribble???

Must be European thing then.. Caddyshack is a truly classic early 80s film.

And people picked Caddyshack over E.T. and Empire Strikes Back??

It's too bad the Mac's losing (and it's even more too bad that they're calling it the "Mac PC"), but I can understand why.

The original NES was a fantastic and ground-breaking system. I still have fond memories of mine, it was my first video game system (of course, I ditched my NES when I got a Sega Genesis).

That said, I ditch old video game systems when I get a new one, but I can never bring myself to ditch an old Mac (although I certainly wouldn't mind taking a sledgehammer to my Performa 6115CD).
