"I don't always buy macs, but when I do, I prefer to buy a nMP."

So, has anyone seen any manufacturers who make a case just for this new form factor?

Seems so small and portable, someone's gotta make a strong duffle bag tote for it???

One of these. Should fit the monitor, perips, nMP and DAS with some crafty arranging

This would be a good solution - camera long lens case! It's a 7" internal diameter and with a bit top additional padding to close out from 16 to 9" would appear to work a treat!

I only use hard cases, computer gets stacked in the truck with the lighting gear. I was looking at the pelican 1730 for the display and decided it was too heavy and expensive. Going with thermodyne.

It does fit in the 1600 nicely - i'll do this as a carry on for the plane, and the display in the thermodyne case can get checked baggage

Seems a little larger than necessary if you don't want to travel with a display.

I'll bet Tenba brings out something discrete, I've got their Omp Model and it's great, just a little bulky, but then Omps are bulky by nature.

I like Pelican stuff, but it just shouts "Steal me!"

Yeah some room for the cables and maybe a drive. I would not check the case in baggage, this one would stay with me. I would like if they Tried to steal it, would give me an excuse to beat them into a pulp using the case as a blunt object

I would never check a bag that contained a nMP. That's gonna be carry on for me. I'll check the monitor, cables, drives and keyboard, but my nMP rides with me. So, I'm really wondering if anyone has thought of cases that are more carry on sized. The backpacks look like great options...but a high priced techy pelican backpack still has "steal me" silk screened all over it.

Well, to each his own. In 20 years i have never lost equipment or had it stolen. Broken though, yes - hence the hard cases

Which Thermo? Is your display a 27"?

u know Otterbox is gonna make it.

You might be able to fit three Mac Pros (with extra headroom) in an original Mac bag.

I have the latter; still waiting for just one of the former…

Two of my friends are photographers and they travel with a lot of gear on airlines, most of it checked. Over the years they've both had a couple of incidents, not breakage though.

One of the things I like about then nMP is the portability, so I hope some good solutions present themselves soon, not that I'm in a hurry.
