Any idea when the nMP might be added to the Employee Purchase Plan list for Apple employees, and what kind of discount we may be looking at? Last I heard (2 weeks ago) it wasn't listed. I guess the initial demand has to subside before it will be made available in the EPP?

If you're an Apple employee then you should ask your employer rather than random people on Mac Rumors.

If you're an Apple employee then see above, if you're not an Apple employee then you won't be looking at any kind of discount.

In the UK I think they get 12% if they are on the list but they won't be for a while yet I reckon. Have no idea if the management get a better rate, my young friend is one of the blue shirts!

Certainly the life of the party.

a genius told me in the UK they get 25% + another £250 if it's a mac (idk which is applied first)

in other words, with all these stupidly huge discounts they get it almost as cheap as full-price with tax in america

It's been added to my corporate employee discount program (discounts for employees of companies who buy a lot of stuff from Apple). 8%, and Apple applied it retroactively, almost $400.

The only time EPP makes sense is when the discount is greater than the sales tax. For some odd reason, the EPP discount on the diskless TB2 Promise is 11%.

MacBook Pro discount for Apple employees is 15% and I understand they can buy one item in a calendar year for 30% off.

Different EPP, one is for Apple employee and the other is for companies that do business with Apple. The none Apple is about 8%.

Haha....you corrected it to the wrong thing. Trust me when I say they get 10 for Friends & Family. Just don't ask me how I know...

I corrected to the right thing. Trust me, because I work for Apple.

Typically the EPP releases product for sale is when the inventory catches up with demand. Look at it historically, for just about all new products, such as the NMP, it'll be a few months at least. I don't believe there has ever been such a long wait for an item, correct me if i'm wrong. I don't think demand is even close to any of the other products, guess the production process is just slow or material sourcing is challenging.

What was stated above is correct, EPP offers a 25% discount on one item, per year, 15% for multiple friends + family purchases.

2010 and 2012 "new" Mac Pros were available immediately. The availability is dependent on overall retail availability, e.g., when a new iPhone comes out, if you feel it's urgent to blow your 25% discount on that, you're going to end up waiting 3 months+ until there's a surplus of items available and retail sales are no longer constrained.

Any update on this?

The update is that the nMPs are still not available for sale via EPP. <checking watch> wait another change of seasons or until all the people paying retail have stopped getting a 8 week wait. Probably, this is the Americans fault, if they were being built in China there would be 10 billion nMPs available yesterday! Damn Americans. Oh, no, wait, that's me, nevermind then.

I just checked our EPP store (Pixar). No Mac Pro yet. Hopefully sometime soon, maybe after WWDC.

I'll call their EPP sales support. They often have an idea when it will be EPP available.
