nMP Optimizing Portability

Hi all. I recently purchased a nMP which I will be using for my new business and at home. I have a laptop for being truly mobile, but I really want to try the nMP as something I can put in my bag, go to the office, take it out, pop it into a hub and voila. So I'm looking at setting up 2 hubs basically.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a HUB that I can purchase where I plug everything into, and all I need to do is just connect the nMP to the hub and a power source?

A Hub for thunderbolt? USB? Display? Keyboard / Mouse? Storage? Card reader???

It's hard to give suggestion without knowing what you need.

Sorry for the lack of detail. You are right!

I currently have the need to connect:

Mini DisplayPort
HDMI
Ethernet
4-6 USB 3.0 (preferred)
Thunderbolt external storage

I found some on Amazon but I am not sure some are worth the cost. I am hoping the community here can have some better suggestions if it's out there.

Display at home is DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort & HDMI.
Office Display is 2xHDMI.

Thanks! I would like to soon add on storage that attaches. Possibly a Drobo or just a handful of SSD enclosures. USB 3.0 is fine for my purposes with that. Thunderbolt would be overkill on transfer rates compared to read/write of an SSD. But that is a whole other topic. Don't want to stray away.

If you look on MPG under USB3 or Apple Core Rot you will also learn about the limitations of USB3 on the 6,1 as a result of all USB ports working off a single controller hub inside - just be aware and why Thunderbolt for Drobo and your SSDs would be preferable.

For TimeMachine or single USB storage you will likely not run into a problem.

Excellent statement! That is a great point I was not aware of. Fortunately, there is a Drobo Thunderbolt version. 4 bays is good for me. It's a bit pricey but nothing else really seems to deter from that price point for Thunderbolt and SSD bays.

I wish there was a cylindrical version! My desk has the nMP and my Amazon Echo.
