nMP order takes a MONTH longer if you order BTO!? Delivers Feb 6

How many of you that ordered BTO noticed that, while it ships in Jan, it delivers "by Feb 6"?? You can tell by looking at the in-store pickup option - which is pretty much the same timing as home delivery. See screen cap below. It does this for any BTO option/combo.

So, if you go BTO, it looks like you're waiting until Feb.

If you order stock (I did), it delivers Jan 7.

No totally surprising, as they're just ramping up production and so the stock models are already in inventory.

I think it's a normal waiting period for BTOs if I am not mistaken. Years ago I ordered a BTO of the classic Mac Pro and also waited for almost a month. I am guessing Apple does not keep inventories of BTO stocks. Apple would order the parts from their supplier based on customers' orders at that time. Probably Apple wants to avoid having too much leftover inventories.
