I have a MP 1,1 and I am wondering if the new MP will have enough power to replace it? I will mostly use it in class for taking notes, power point, maybe some final cut.

nMP to replace MP 1,1? Enough power?

In class? Are you a lecturer? In one of your other threads you said you were a pro user and had been using a 1.1 mp for the last 7 years.

If you are doing lots of final cut and other motion stuff the nMP will be perfect, it's what it was designed for.

The only thing I can think of is that the OP is concerned about changes in ports, lack of PCI, lack of internal drives. I mean the 1,1 was outclassed in processing speed long ago.
